DNA Extraction from Saliva using Oragene Kits and Nucleon chemistry

We can now extract high yields of high quality DNA from saliva using the non-invasive Oragene DNA Self-Collection Kits combined with our own proprietary Nucleon chemistry.

Traditional DNA collection methods such as blood extraction are painful for the donor and can limit the number of donors that are willing to participate in an epidemiological study or a clinical trial.  The most effective and non-invasive source of DNA is from buccal epithelial cells and white blood cells found in saliva.

The Oragene DNA self-collection kits offer clinicians and researchers an easy, safe, reliable method of saliva sample collection which can be stored at room temperature without DNA degradation.

Using our own proprietary Nucleon chemistry we can extract high molecular weight DNA which is suitable for the majority of downstream applications, including PCR.
