Our Proposal

We provide an outline proposal to you defining how our service will meet your specific requirements and summarising all of the costs involved. There are no hidden extras. This proposal will form the basis of our service agreement, which will be approved by you, prior to project commencement.

Sample Collection & Logistics

We can provide you with custom-designed patient sample collection kits and can organise collection and transportation of your samples to and from our facilities using pre bar-coded packaging. Documentation can also be customised to suit your individual study requirements.

Sample Receipt

All samples are barcode labelled and registered into our custom built sample tracking database. The integrity and condition of the samples are checked against agreed specifications and any discrepancies are communicated to you prior to sample extraction.

Sample Storage

All samples are stored in line with the agreed protocol. Our storage facility is located within a secure, controlled access area with constant temperature monitoring and backup capability.

Nucleic Acid Extraction

The procedure used for nucleic acid purification will be determined in accordance with the sample type and condition. Customer-specified procedures can also be performed by our experienced service personnel. Scheduling ensures that samples are removed from storage and processed within a single working day. Barcode tracking is used throughout.

Quantification & Normalisation

Purified DNA samples are quantified using either fluorescence (PicoGreen®) or Absorbance (A260nm) techniques. Sample normalisation (to a defined volume, concentration or series of concentrations) is available using ‘state of the art’ automation.

Quality Control

We offer a number of methods for Quality Control analysis of the final nucleic acid product which can be tailored to suit your requirements. Options include Absorbance ratio determination, assay via PCR, agarose gel electrophoresis and restriction enzyme digestion.

Sample Despatch

After processing, samples are refrigerated prior to overnight despatch. Samples are returned with a full supporting data package in electronic or hard copy format. We can archive an aliquot of your sample in our cryogenic storage facility ensuring back-up materials are always available.

Sample Archiving

Tepnel provides a long term sample storage service giving you peace of mind when it comes to backup/retained sample archiving. Our high quality DNA product can be stored safely and securely for many years in our GLP-compliant facility which combines ease of deposit/retrieval with secure chain of custody documentation.
