Genotyping for Livestock Research
Tepnel provides genotyping services from single locus to genome-wide research projects. We offer the Illumina bovine SNP-chip and are committed to supporting current and future commercial and custom SNP marker panels for porcine, ovine and avian research. For
low-plex SNP genotyping solutions we operate an automated genotyping pipeline with very high capacity enabling large economies of scale. STR-genotyping is performed on an AB3130xl and Tepnel offers all of the latest ISAG-approved panels for DNA profiling and linkage analysis.
Animal Identification
Reliable information on the pedigree, breed, sex and individual identity of valuable livestock is important to both agricultural breeders and farm managers. Genetic identification techniques can now allow this information to be produced rapidly and cost effectively. Tepnel provides livestock DNA services for the analysis of single animals through to entire herds.
In addition to managing and selecting livestock, DNA profiling can also be applied to traceability through the agricultural supply chain, verifying the authenticity of branded products and adding value to commercial sales.
Tepnel has many years’ experience in developing and applying genetic identification tests for both government and private sectors. Where specific techniques are not currently available, we are happy to discuss the production of customized services.

We offer the Illumina canine and equine SNP genotyping chips for high density genotyping to support companion animal and model species research. For

Tepnel offers a range of genetic tests for companion animals. Our parentage testing services provide owners and breeders with the information needed to verify pedigree relationshipe. We also offer a DNA identification service for profiling individuals, allowing lost or stolen animals to be traced and returned.
