Quality Control Technician 1 or 2

The Quality Control Technician plays an integral role in maintaining quality in the manufacturing process.   Through testing and evaluating our diagnostic products, the QC Technician insures compliance with FDA, ISO, and company standards.   

Attention to detail and concern for impact is essential in this role.

Sample of accountabilities and responsibilities: 
  • Conducting Quality Control testing of products for both product development and ongoing manufacturing purposes.
  • Creating concise documentation of all testing and communicating test results to Quality Control Management.
  • Participating in the process to correct deficiencies.
  • Investigating complaints concerning defective products
 
Ability to:
  • Read, analyze and interpret technical procedures.
  • Effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, co-workers, clients and the general public.
  • Apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency of distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory and factor analysis.
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form. Recognize problems and bring them to the attention of a supervisor.
  • Deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
 
Experience preferred in the following techniques:
  • PCR or other amplification techniques
  • Electrophoresis
  • DNA Hybridization techniques
 
Education and work experience required:  

Bachelors Degree in Biological Science:   

Level 1,   2 + years relevant (Laboratory or QC) experience or training. 
Level 2,   4 + years relevant (QC) experience, or M.S.in Biological Science and 2 years relevant (QC) experience.
