Analyst, Microbiology
Applications are invited for the above vacancy to join the busy team within the Microbiology Department. The post will be hands- on, physical bench work with a requirement to undertake some administrative and organisational duties also.
Duties will predominantly include:
- Undertaking routine analysis under the direction or supervision of Senior Analysts or Project Managers.
- Assisting Project Managers in the development of new assays.
- Preparation of draft Certificates of Analysis.
- Assisting with checking, writing, and updating SOPs and test methods based on regulatory documentation and client specific requirements.
The candidate will preferably have the following skills:
- Education to a minimum of HND level in Microbiology or a closely related science and/or practical experience in a variety of the following tests: sterility; TVC; endotoxin; preservative efficacy; environmental monitoring; antibiotic assay; micro-organism identification. :
- A clear understanding of the importance of the timely delivery of results to Project Managers.
- The ability to interact with colleagues and managers in a professional manner in order to expedite analysis.
- To set an example in all areas including quality of physical work, productive working practices, health and safety, and recording of data.
- Familiarity with Pharmacopoeias and similar documents.
- Familiarity with cGMP / cGLP as applied to the pharmaceutical industry.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Excellent reliability in terms of punctuality, dependability and integrity.
- A high degree of flexibility (out-of hours and weekend working may be required)
- Attention to detail.
Salary commensurate with experience on appropriate scale
